After an impressive 2010-2011 seasonresulting in a Tier 3 Championship, the Coltsare looking to rebuild for the upcoming 2011-2012 campaign. This year, the Colts will combine with the Thundering Herd of Carlisle. The Colts will be bringing eight players to the combined team; two seniors, one junior, twosophomores and three freshmen. Carlisle will be brining 11 players; two seniors, four juniors, twosophomores and three freshmen. The Coltscombined with the Thundering Herd are a potentialTier 3 power house.
The seniors from Cedar Cliff and Carlisle will be looked upon for their experience and leadership to guide and lead the team to the top of the league. Colts’ seniors Anthony Anderson and Grant Harlacher will play a big role in putting points on the score board with their puck handling skills. Carlislesenior, Vincent Green will add to that scoring supportand deliver on target shots. The other Carlisle senior,Garrett Orr, will bring experience in tending the net as goalie.
Colts’ junior, Shane Kubik and Thundering Herd juniors Bobby Brown, Samuel Buran, Lucas Ray and Nick Wagner will be relied upon heavily to help bring support on both sides of the blue line. Shane andBobby will use there defensive skills to protect the netand will work with Samuel, Lucas and Nick to set up point making plays.
Returning sophomores to the Colt’s team include Liam MacAdam and Reed Scanlon. Liam’s impressive skating and Reed’s hard hitting will be heavily utilized to help support this Team. Returning sophomores to the Thundering Herd team includeZachary Smith and Nate Prazenica. Nate will be the back-up goalie and will be between the pipes stopping the puck when needed and Zack will be playing aggressive to assist the team to victory.
Rounding out this combined team are six freshmen; Max Dunphy, Kenny Forsberg and Brandon Rowe from Cedar Cliff and Lucas Clepper, Seth Pennebakerand Quinn Poirier from Carlisle. These young men represent the future of the Colts and the Thundering Herd and will be expected to tally some goals and assists for this team to be a Tier 3 contender.
The 2011-2012 Colts-Thundering Herd team should provide excitement and action for the high-spirited and loyal student fans. This team will play every game with intensity and passion and will keep the fans cheering and hopefully bring big wins.
The Middle School is also a combined team drawing students from several different schools including Lemoyne, Camp Hill, Allen, New Cumberland, Wilson and Big Spring Middle Schools. This team will be working hard to develop their skills and deliver high scoring and well defended games. It may take this team a few weeks to gel, but watch out as they solidify on the ice. This is sure to be an exciting group to watch.
The 2011-2012 coaching staff includes Head Coach Ryan Brown (Carlisle 2010-2011 Head Coach) and Assistant Coaches Dennis Green, Chris Moore and Tim Poirier. For Middle School, Chris Moore (Cedar Cliff 2010-2011 Head Coach) is the Head Coach andRobert Guarino and Steve James are the assistant coach.
