Coming off its most successful season in 8 years the Wilson Bulldogs Varsity Ice Hockey Team under Head Coach Scott Hayick and Assistant Coach Tom Mulkeen are looking forward to the upcoming season, returning to the playoffs and making a run for the Bears Cup. With 14 returning players the Bulldogs will have more experience than in years past but will still be a team made up of predominantly Jrs. Leading the Offense this season will be returning Srs Austin Reaser and Mark Balthaser. Jrs Erik Bowers, Koby Mayer, Austin Stubblebine, Jon Cordeiro, and Mark Mulkeen will also add experience to the front lines. Soph Josh Nagle adds speed and expects to be a major part of the offense this year. On the Blue Line the Bulldogs defense will be anchored by Sr Justin Wagner along with returning Jrs Dylan Hayick and Darian Weidenhammer. Sophomore Chris Haueisen will also get plenty of minutes. Two new additions this year, Freshman Michael Simmerman (F) and Jimmy McDonald (D) also look to contribute greatly for the Bulldogs on both sides of the ice. In goal for the Bulldogs will be returning Jr Marc Daouphars who looks to have another solid year between the pipes.
Entering its 16th season the Wilson Bulldogs will be fielding teams at the Varsity and JV levels. This year’s JV team will be coached by 1st year Head Coach Justin Flamini and Asst Coach Joshua Flamini. The Wilson School District has recognized Varsity Ice Hockey as an official Winter School Sport since the 2002 season.
